Reese Peck Inducted into Tappahannock Rotary
John Gregory welcomed Reese Peck by inducting him into the Tappahannock Rotary Club on Thursday, March 21st and reading him the basic Rotary mission statements. The club president John Lewis participated in the ceremony and then got double value by having Reese present the program for the evening. Reese detailed his diverse career in public administration in South Dakota, New York state, and in Virginia, along with his alternate career in the financial industry working with Wachovia and Prudential in the investment side of the business. His presentation this evening focused on Essex County and the multi pronged initiatives to get the area designated as an enterprise zone and move ahead on revitalization. An excellent presentation which opened the eyes of many members.

The Truth about Ethanol Fuel !
March 14th Rotary presentation featured Mark Hildebrand courtesy of Bob Holt (right) and Louis Muse (left) of Garrett's Marina. The introduction of ethanol is problematic if fuel is left standing for longer than 60 to 90 days. Fuel can separate into water and fuel due to ethanol's attraction to water and cause corrosion, cause poor combustion chamber performance and cause expensive damage. Valvtect meets a proposed industry fuel specification promoted by NNMA. Mark and Louis's recommendations - use non ethanol fuel, change fuel filters at least twice a year, use fuel stabilizers even for non-ethanol fuel.
